Work out the capital gain on the sale
Estimate the capital gain and how much you keep from the sale, using the agreed price, the tax cost and the expected expenses.
Enter the figures for the calculation
The tool covers the sale of a business, not the sale of company shares. It does not work out taxes, rates, exemptions or the tax regime. Check the result with your accountant, together with which assets and contracts are included in the sale.
How it works
To estimate the capital gain, we subtract the costs directly related to the sale and the tax-recognized cost from the sale price. To work out how much you keep from the sale, we subtract the expenses, the debts to repay and any taxes you entered. The tax cost is used to calculate the capital gain, but it is not an amount you pay at the time of the sale.
A real example
A price of €200,000, a tax cost of €80,000 and direct costs of €10,000 give a difference of €110,000. With €30,000 of debts to repay, €160,000 is left before tax.

Frequently asked questions
Is the result the net amount I will receive?
The capital gain and the proceeds are two different things. The summary shows them separately and only subtracts taxes if you enter an estimate. Payment terms and other agreements can change the cash you actually have available.
Can I use it to sell company shares?
No. Selling shares involves a different scope and different rules. This tool only covers the sale of a business.
